Frozen Cake Topper

We all know an Elsa lover don't we?

About hip height and obsessed with Orlof?

Well here's a cake topper for a Frozen themed cake that I made from materials I had around the house!

What you'll need:

  • Paper scissors

  • Ruler

  • Glue - super glue or a glue gun

  • Cardboard - thicker than usual paper

  • Pencil and eraser

  • Ribbon

  • String

  • 2 straws

  • Texters or pencils

I drew up the flags first based on the width I wanted the cake topper. Most cakes are 8 inches so I aimed for 6.5 inch's width for the cake topper.

I started with a 20cm x 3cm piece of card and marked every 2 cms with a half centimeter gap in between each.

I left a lip of 1/2 centimeter above each flag too so it can be folded over the string. Cut your flags.

Once all your flags are cut - use a ruler to fold over the top of the flag. Trim any excess that might be showing when the top lip is folded over.

You want to do this before you glue the flags to the string, or you could risk cutting the string.

Place your flag in position on the string and glue into place. Continue to measure the width to ensure the flags are spaced accordingly.

Once they are all stuck on to the string it's time to attach the string to the straws.

Wrap any excess string around the top of the straw and glue into place. Trim off any excess.

Create your ribbons and glue them into place like so.

Make sure to practice the letter writing before you write it on, as there is no going back.

This 4 year old may not notice this cutie with all the other fun stuff around it but it will certainly be the perfect backdrop for Elsa and her friends.
